Responsibilities/Qualifications

The Senior Retail Systems Engineer is a remote role responsible for leading the support, development, deployment, and continuous evaluation of various systems and applications in our retail environment. The goal is to ensure these systems are stable and operating at peak performance while finding improvements and new efficiencies within this ecosystem.  The ideal candidate must be a hands-on, detail-oriented, team player, with strong retail technology and product support experience. Must be passionate, able to change focus rapidly when priorities shift, and be willing to learn and grow with our suite of products and capabilities.

 

PAWsome Senior Retail Systems Engineer candidates will:

  • Develop and demonstrate a firm understanding of the store environment becoming intimately familiar with all applications, including purpose, features and functions
  • Understand how systems work together, and the downstream impact of change.
  • Consistently provide downstream knowledge transfer, produce process documentation, and maintain communication with the store support team to expedite issue resolution
  • Manage the technology footprint for the entire store, including applications, integration, and hardware
  • Maintain and refine the POS code and proprietary extensions, and modify functionality as needed
  • Provide second-level support in troubleshooting and resolving incidents in the environment
  • Develop and maintain PSP-Specific handheld and notification apps
  • Work with Payment Processor partners to support store operations and reporting
  • Design and develop both internal and external facing APIs/RESTful services for Enterprise Application Integration of applications hosted on premise and in the cloud
  • Constantly research new technologies that can positively impact the company in the market
  • Actively support other development efforts across the team through collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology field or equivalent IT experience
  • Retail systems experience is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years application development experience using TypeScript, ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, VueJS, and SQL
  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products
  • Ability to innovate and provide functional applications with intuitive interfaces
  • Ability to interpret complex business requirements and encapsulate business logic/rules into reusable libraries
  • Experience with software versioning and release management
  • Experienced in defining business requirements, use cases and test cases
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and translate data into actionable plans

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft D365 Store Commerce (POS)
  • Experience with Microsoft payment connectors and Adyen integration
  • Proven ability to effectively work with a diverse group in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated usage of object-oriented design concepts
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve business issues through solution-oriented project
