Human Resources Internship (Hybrid Role)

Join America’s Favorite Neighborhood Pet Store for a pawsome summer internship! We're seeking two (2) Human Resources Interns to gain hands-on experience at our Livonia, MI headquarters. This opportunity will allow you to gain real-world HR experience, network with industry professionals, and help support the Team Members who make our stores pawsitively amazing!

Internship Opportunities:
Pawsome Internship 1 – Total Wellness
Reporting to the Total Wellness Manager, this internship will focus on leave management and workers' compensation processes. Responsibilities include:

• Responding to internal and external inquiries in benefits and workers' compensation inboxes.
• Communicating leave updates to supervisors and/or HR partners.
• Preparing weekly reports for LOA salary continuation and benefits refunds.
• Maintaining employee survey data feeds.

Pawsome Internship 2 – Field HR & Recruiting
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, this internship will support Field HR and Recruiting teams with exposure to various HR Generalist functions, including:

• Employee relations.
• Recruiting and candidate experience.
• Rewards and recognition programs.

What We're Looking For:
Ideal HR Intern candidates will have:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Human Resources or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and good academic standing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-up abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Have the ability to work a 4-Day Work Week (Monday – Thursday, In-Office Monday – Wednesday)
