Accounting Internship (Hybrid Role)

We have an immediate need for an Accounting Intern/Co-Op Student in our corporate headquarters in Livonia that we call Pet Central. You will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals and leaders of the organization helping to solve problems and add immediate value.  The position requires 24-30 hours per week Monday – Friday (flexibility in scheduling is available.)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and book monthly journal entries
• Support the broader team with ad hoc reporting, questions, and requests
• Assist leadership with process automation and back-office system implementation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Working towards a Bachelors’ degree in Finance or Accounting
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is required
• Junior standing and completion of Intermediate Accounting courses is preferred
• 1 year of accounting or other related experience is preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as a keen attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong commitment to excellent customer service
• Confident in proactive verbal and written communication
• Proficient with accounting software, Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment
