The Marketing Data and Technology Architect/Engineer, reporting to the Director, Marketing Technology, is responsible for creating, operating and managing marketing data across various marketing systems within the company which drive increased traffic to our stores, supports sales plans, customer loyalty and EBITDA objectives.  The Marketing Data and Technology Architect/Engineer will coordinate with team members across the company, our vendors and service providers to ensure that email, loyalty, social and web marketing systems are accurate operate appropriately.  They will manage various technology initiatives in the Marketing Department.



  • Manage, maintain, optimize, and enhance the CRM eco system, which we call NRM- Neighbor Relations Marketing, at Pet Supplies Plus
  • Coordinate efforts to facilitate data ingestion from outside vendors, internal data sources and procured data into NRM
  • Coordinate with the Marketing and IT teams to ensure marketing systems meet the needs of the company
  • Work with and manage programmers, data scientists, analysts, and report writers to provide for ongoing marketing system needs
  • Facilitate/manage analysis/reporting of Marketing data for the Marketing department and overall business
  • Development of Marketing ETL workflows via SQL procedures, creation of tables and SSIS workflows.
  • Drive the analysis, design, and development of databases and PowerBI objects
  • Create and implement ongoing systems to integrate the customer’s experience
  • Monitor marketing systems and identify enhancements that will benefit our customers and the company
  • Manage relationships with third party vendors



  • BA/BS in a related field or 5-year minimum experience in marketing technology and data management, ideally in a retail organization.
  • Experience with SQL Server a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy of data with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment, including a self-starter with a bias for action
  • Familiarity with Oracle products of Responsys, Unity, Crowdtwist and Infinity is a plus
